  3. In 734-732 B.C. Tiglath-Pileser III of Assyria led a military campaign into Philistia, Israel, and Aram. Although Israel survived as a nation, much of her territory was captured (2 Kings 15:29). In 722 Assyria conquered the city of Samaria, ending Israel's existence (2 Kings 17:3-6).
